Cinematographer Krishna's directorial debut Gajakesari starring Rocking Star Yash and Golden Queen Amoolya in leads is another film with the mixture of all the commercial elements to make it a perfect movie and a proof to show the unique movie making style of Kannadigas. The movie opens with the introduction by South actor Prakash Raj, who makes the audience to get glued to the screen. Its all about the man, who will be blessed with 'Gajakesari Yoga' (star of elephant and lion).Gajakesari deals with the story of Baddi Krishna (Yash), who will be a cool dude in the town. Ananth Nag, who is the Matadhipathi (chief of temple) will decide to make Baddi Krishna as his successor. Though Krishna will not be interested in the traditional and religious practices, situation will leads him towards that post. Will Krishna become the matadhipathi or plays a prank to avoid becoming the saint? Why will Ananth Nag decides to make cool dude Baddi Krishna as his successor? What is background of Krishna? Forms the crux of the story, which should be enjoyed on silver screen. Though Gajakesari seems to be bit lagged in few parts of its narration, still the suspense and curious will continues. The comedy is the biggest strength of the film.

After wrapping up with her last film, Shravani Subramanya opposite Ganesh, Amoolya is now starting work on her next film,  Gajakessari. Cinematographer S Krishna has chosen her as the main lead for his debut direction. Casted opposite Yash, Krishna says about his choice of Amoolya, “I  was particular about casting a Kannada girl. Yash has acted  with Radhika Pandit and Ramya, earlier. I wanted to pick up somebody who is tailor-made for the role or somebody who is a contrast to what has been done before. Till date, Amoolya has portrayed school girl characters and I think, with this movie, there will be a makeover.” Krishna has roped in a couple of fashion designers to design costumes for Amoolya. “The makeover will be with her hair style,  costume and her makeup. We will rework on her look before we proceed further,” he said.Amoolya says that she was offered a couple of films with Yash in the lead, which she could not  take up because of her studies and other commitments. “I didn’t want to reject this movie after knowing that Yash was the hero. This  being a fantasy film, runs with a hero, a heroine and an elephant. I am also doing a research on birds. It has a different shade than my previous roles,” she said. The actress has just completed writing her exams for second year B’Com and is very particular about her studies. “If I have ever bunked classes, it was only for shooting purpose, otherwise I am regular at the college. My teachers are happy about my sincerity towards completing my graduation. They don’t mind me taking off from college for film shoots. This time around, I will be shooting for Gajakessari from June” she said.
